One nice outfit for theater or restaurant
Fleece, Polartec or wool sweater (depending on destination weather conditions)

Walking shoes (nice enough to wear into restaurants, theater, etc.)
1 warm sweater or sweat shirt
towel for the beach
jeans or other trousers
Take long, loose-fitting, light-coloured clothing and spray insect repellent on them
Avoid wearing baseball caps, shiny sunglasses and black socks
Bermuda shorts, T-shirts, a pair of Havaianas and other clothes bought in Brazil are a good choice.
Avoid packing up jewellery and expensive watches, or carrying valuable items
